" Internet access for public libraries will help to reduce the disadvantage of those who live in areas which are geographically remote from the great library collections. The Millennium Libraries will have potential to contribute significantly to the development of those individuals in our society who most need help: in their working lives; in their leisure time; in their search for personal fulfilment."
Norman Russell is the current Chairman of the Library and Information Services Council (Northern Ireland) and his involvement in Information for All emphasises that the project is United Kingdom-wide in its scope and its significance.
Norman Russell has been University Librarian at the Queen's University of Belfast since 1900 having previously worked for McMaster in Canada and the University of Ulster.
