STOP PRESS: INFORMATION FOR ALL'S MILLENNIUM BID REJECTED on 4th Feb 1997. Read Information for All's press release.
Information for All submitted a application to the Millennium Commission on 11th November 1996.

The Millennium
Commission have agreed that the Millennium Libraries Project
bid can proceed to the second stage.
The Project now has
produced a full application with details of technical and financial
infrastructure, including an initial demonstration of public support which
was submitted on 11th November 1996.
The Millennium Commissioners
should let their decision been known around March 1997. If it
is favourable, consultation continues through 1997, work starts
in 1998 and the programme must be completed by the end of 2000.
